Our client is a well-established financial firm and the first Cyprus company to receive a license to operate as an Electronic Money Institution granted in 2007. They are currently looking for a Database Administrator join their team in Larnaca.
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Database Officer to join a growing team in Larnaca. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of experience to work across multiple database technologies and play a key role in supporting business-critical systems.
The Role:
- You’ll be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and supporting company databases, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.
- You’ll also collaborate closely with internal teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
- Write, review, and improve SQL queries and stored procedures
- Perform backups, recovery, and ensure data availability
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance
- Support internal stakeholders with reporting and data requests
- Assist with database design, upgrades, and improvements
- Maintain clear documentation and processes
What We’re Looking For:
- 2–3 years of database administration or similar experience
- Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or Oracle)
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization
- Good understanding of backup and recovery processes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Team-oriented with a proactive attitude
Nice to Have:
- Experience with reporting or data visualization tools
- Basic scripting or automation skills
- Awareness of database security best practices
