Our client, a Marine Technology Services Company based in Limassol, is looking to hire a System / Infrastructure officer who will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, installing, and supporting the company’s ICT infrastructure. This role ensures that systems, cloud solutions, business applications, security tools, and core services operate securely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. By delivering user- and customer-focused support to staff, third parties, and clients, the System / Infrastructure Officer plays a critical role in optimizing performance, enhancing resilience, and driving continuous improvement across the organization’s IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proactive measures are implemented to prevent or mitigate service disruptions.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance to maintain maximum uptime and service availability.
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based systems and services.
  • Manage infrastructure resources, including asset management, antivirus protection, system configuration, and deployment.
  • Function as a technical lead on infrastructure-related projects, delivering secure, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Take ownership of incidents and service requests: log, track, escalate, and resolve issues while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Troubleshoot user-reported issues, conduct root cause analysis, and apply change/problem management practices to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records, SOP documentation, and contribute to the infrastructure knowledge base.
  • Research, evaluate, and support adoption of modern technologies and emerging solutions.
  • Support service and infrastructure improvement initiatives, including automation and optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and communication.
  • Implement and manage security measures such as firewalls, encryption, monitoring, and backup solutions to safeguard data and systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure administration.
  • Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
  • Expertise in Windows domain server infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, File Services, etc.).
  • Solid experience with IaaS/PaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, Digital Ocean).
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 SaaS solutions (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365, PowerApps).
  • Proficiency with Linux environments (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts; Fortinet experience a plus.
  • Experience with Service Desk platforms (Fresh Service, Jira, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Zabbix or equivalent).
  • Experience with PBX systems (3CX, Asterisk) and open-source platforms (ownCloud, FreePBX).
  • Proficiency with device and endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune, JAMF, and other MDM (Mobile Device Management) platforms.
  • Familiarity with RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) software for proactive system oversight.
  • Awareness of information security principles and frameworks (ITIL or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with empathy, prioritization, and problem analysis.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities with logical, structured thinking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and committed to professional ethics and integrity.

Working hours:

  • The working hours are 8:30am-5pm with half an hour break
