Our client, a Global Cryptocurrency Company in Nicosia, is looking to recruit a Risk Manager with at least 3 years experience in a CySEC regulated Company and with experience with CySEC reports.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools specific to Backpack EU’s business profile, including liquidity risk assessment, and stress testing.
- Identify, measure, and monitor key risk factors affecting Backpack EU, such as market risk, counterparty risk, and liquidity risk.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate the potential impact of adverse market conditions or unexpected events.
- Collaborate with compliance officers to ensure that business strategies adhere to risk limits, guidelines, and applicable policies.
- Participate in the development of risk management reports, presentations, and client communications, conveying complex risk concepts and insights in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risk trends related to the industry, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance risk management practices.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness, transparency, and accountability across the organization, promoting a collaborative and disciplined approach to risk management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA, FRM) will be considered an advantage.
- CySEC Advanced Certificate is a must.
- CySEC AML Certificate would be considered an advantage.
- At least 3 years experience in a CySEC regulated Company
- Minimum of 3-5 year in risk management, preferably within a MiFID II firm and Crypto exchange, investment management firm, or financial institution with exposure to alternative investment strategies.
- Strong understanding of the Crypto industry
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with specific expertise in risk analysis techniques relevant to alternative investments.
- Proficiency in risk management software, analytics tools, and data visualization platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex risk concepts to senior stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in assessing and mitigating risks.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of risk management and decision-making.
- Experience with CySEC Reporting obligations (IFR/XBRL reports) is a must
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Working hours:
- The working hours are 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday (hybrid role, 2-3 days working from home)
