Our client is an international shipping company in the river cruise industry in Limassol. They are now looking to employ a highly motivated Junior Crewing Officer for their nautical and hotel team. This is an entry-level position, and previous experience is not required. They will provide full training.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all mandatory crew documentation is complete and on file before embarkation, following up promptly on any missing information. 
  • Identify and book suitable flight, train and bus connections for crew members, considering operational requirements and cost. 
  • Prepare and distribute accurate travel information to crew members, vessels, the Operations team and external agents. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the crew management system. 
  • Complete the online registration and deregistration of crew members with the medical insurance provider. 
  • Review crew travel invoices and verify uniform deductions, following up on any discrepancies. 
  • Participate in cross-training to provide temporary coverage during the absence of a Crew HR Officer and support future professional development. 
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Crew HR Officers as required. 
  • Escalate missing documentation, travel disruptions and other urgent crew matters to the responsible Crew HR Officer in a timely manner. 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in crewing, shipping, travel coordination or HR administration is an advantage. 
  • A degree in Shipping, Human Resources or a related field is an advantage. 
  • Good organisational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage several tasks and priorities while remaining calm and solution-focused when urgent changes arise. 
  • A collaborative and proactive working style, combined with the ability to work independently. 
  • Confidence using digital systems and handling confidential employee information. 
  • Fluent written and spoken English; German is an advantage. 
  • Willingness to provide occasional support outside normal working hours when urgent crew or vessel matters arise. 
  • An unrestricted right to work in Cyprus or the EU. 

Working Hours:

The working hours are from Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 17.30 pm with 30 minutes lunch (working 1 day from home after probation)
