Our client is a Renewable energy utility company based in Nicosia Cyprus which focuses on solar power generation and supply and they are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager who will be reporting directly to the Chief Development officer
Overall Purpose of the Job:
To build and maintain the company Energy’s Commercial Pipeline and Market position in Cyprus by developing the generation and supply business. Exploring, identifying, and securing new market opportunities,approaching, and signing prospective clients (off takers), developing new products/services, securing strategic partnerships, increasing customer base, and contribute to improving the company.
Organizational Relationships:
- Supervision of: Generation and Supply business units.
- Functional relationships with: Business units and all levels of management.
- External Relationships: Clients, government agencies, consultants, projects’ advisors and various service providers and business partners.
Primary Tasks:
Energy Understanding:
- Understanding the energy sector (Conventional and Renewables).
- Understanding the electricity infrastructure and technologies.
Market Knowledge:
- Responsible for the generation of leads industry including PPAs , PDAs, and new products.
- Managing high-potential clients and projects.
- Attending conferences to network and gain market insight.
Government Relations:
- Overseeing the government relations process from start to finish for every project.
- Attending government high-level meetings related to the Energy sector.
Process Management:
- Sales process management and delivery through mapping out and developing a BD plan.
- Develop a detailed action plan according to data collected through the sector.
- Liaising with the finance, legal and technical teams to negotiate and close deals with prospective clients.
- Overseeing the production of reports (such as financial statements) and presentations to illustrate findings to the Leadership team.
Client Relationship Management:
- Contacting high-potential clients to set up meetings and offer tailored energy solutions.
- Responsible for overseeing the legal and finance departments during their client acquisition evaluation.
- Overseeing the review of Greek-English commercial contracts with clients and team.
- Responsible for delivering all client agreements, supporting documents, and bank requirements.
Team Management:
- Work with HR to recruit, interview, select, and hire for required roles within the team.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members.
- Create a workplace culture that fits with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Representing the interests of the department to the management team.
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition and rewards with the assistance of HR.
Additional:
- Assisting with company marketing and management of social media pages so it is aligned with the commercial goals.
- Understanding Cypriot energy policy/laws and how they might affect the business.
Authority:
- Client Identification.
- Priority matrix on which clients and projects to pursue and develop.
- Signing off on price offers sent to potential clients (aligned with the company’s investment criteria and requirements).
KPI’s:
- Number of MWs/MVs signed at the end of each year (PPA & Supply).
- Increasing Generation and Supply customer base.
- Delivery of detailed Financial Statement and positive EBIDTA with the support of the Finance Team
- Contributes to the process of gaining strategic clarity in team plans and the implementation of the company-approved investment policy.
Educational background, Skills and Experience required:
- BSc/BA in any relevant discipline (preference over Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business), MBA is a plus
- 10 years of experience in relevant field
- Reporting Skills. Finance knowledge, Engineering knowledge, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, High level of confidentiality, Time Management, General Math Skills, Advanced MS Excel skills are a plus.
- Excellent command of Greek and English language
- High leadership skills, Problem solver
Working Conditions:
- The position requires a combination of desk work and site visits to prospective clients. It also requires occasional travel within Cyprus and necessary overtime.
Salary:
- Salary is based on experience and the client is open to negotiations
