Our client, a Global Cryptocurrency Company in Nicosia, is looking to recruit an AMLCO Officer. The candidate must have experience in a regulated CIF and not just from a payment provider.
Responsibilities:
- Closely cooperate with and assist the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Monitor the ‘Know Your Customer’ and ‘Client Due Diligence’ procedures.
- Ensure that the compliance procedures are followed in order to comply with CySEC and MiFID ii requirements.
- Keep abreast of regulatory requirements as evolving best practices in the compliance department.
- Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
- Prepare annual regulatory reports and assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting obligations of the Company.
- Assist in induction training for new employees, annual AML training, and ad-hoc training.
- Performing transaction monitoring to detect suspicious transactions which require further review and escalation.
- Prepare and update existing policies and procedures of the company.
- Reviewing and approving marketing content ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines for advertising
- Performing content reviews of the company websites.
- Performing day-to-day desk-based reviews and inspections in accordance with the compliance risk assessment and monitoring program, to evaluate compliance of the company with its legal and regulatory obligations and the effectiveness of the internal policies and control procedures.
- Examining, evaluating, and responding promptly to client complaints
- Undertaking additional duties as and when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
- At least 2–3 years of experience in AML/CFT compliance within the financial services sector, preferably in a CySEC regulated financial Institutions;
- Good knowledge of CySEC regulatory framework and EU AML directives.
- AML certification is mandatory.
- CySEC Advanced Certification will be a plus. Additional certifications in compliance (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience in cryptocurrency will be considered an advantage.
- English proficiency.
- Strong personality and the ability to commence and conclude issues from start to finish.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experienced in working under pressure, shifting priorities and delegating tasks as new assignments and projects arise;
- Organised, focused and diligent;
- Willingness to learn and evolve in a fast-paced environment
- Communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent command of the English language;
- Professionalism, work ethic, self-motivated and team player;
- Positive can-do attitude and highly committed personality.
Working hours:
- The working hours are 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday (hybrid role, 2-3 days working from home is possible).
