Our client is an independent and highly respected professional services firm, based in Nicosia, who is looking to onboard an Accountant focusing on VAT.

  • As an Accountant – VAT Specialist, you’ll play a key role in managing our financial records and supporting smooth bookkeeping processes.

Responsibilities:

  • This job position has the following responsibilities and duties:
  • Strong knowledge of VAT regulations, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist in the preparation of management accounts.
  • Experience in accounting and preparation of financial statements and reconciling accounts.
  • Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure proper documentation.
  • Process invoices and manage bookkeeping tasks.
  • Work with accounting software to record and manage financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate should have the following skills, education, and experience:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience
  • ACCA qualified or actively working towards completion.
  • Experience in VAT compliance, Social Insurance services, and Tax authorities
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g.E-soft, Odoo)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Effective teamwork and independent working capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills in Greek and English
  • IT literate and adaptable
  • High integrity and a positive, can-do attitude.

Benefits:

  • €19 200 - €24 000 depending on experience + Benefits

Our working hours are:

  • Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 8:15am – 17:15pm. With half hour break 13:00pm – 13:30pm
  • Wednesday & Friday 8:15am – 15:00pm no break.
  • Flexible walk-in hours in the morning between 8:15am – 9:15am, leaving accordingly.
