Our client is part of a successful & profitable Global European Analytics company that works with governmental organizations and has sites in different locations across Europe such as Athens, Italy, Macedonia, Ireland and Cyprus and they are looking for a Systems Engineer for their Limassol office who wants to grow and develop with the company.
The Delivery/Operations functions are based in Cyprus and the R&D is based in the other locations across Europe.
Responsibilities:
Build and configure complex systems.
Maintain and create services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Drive operational excellence projects to improve network performance and reliability
Review and implement changes on the network
Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
of at least three years of industry experience as a System Engineer.
Software development/scripting skills are highly desired - specifically in Python or shell (bash)
Experience in the following protocols and concepts: BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, TCP/IP Flow control, UDP, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, DNS, ARP, HTTP, SSL, STP, Trunking& Port Channeling, IPsec, and TLS
Understanding of Unix systems internals and networking
Analyzing and improving availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security, and performance of systems.
Strong Linux server system administration skills
Experience on Docker, Kubernetes
Monitoring of production server systems, including designing, and implementing automated methods to monitor those systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and managers.
