Our client, a well-known group of companies who offer services across five inter-connected industries: Maritime / Oil & Gas , and other sectors is looking to hire Senior Forwarding Officer based in Limassol.

Authority Level:

  • Deals with all areas of responsibility as stated below.
  • May not interfere or take over duties and responsibilities of Senior Managers or Peers.
  • May intervene only with the full co -ordinance and agreement of the Senior Manager or Peer involved. 
  • Is required to carry out duties over and above specific responsibilities specified below as per the Instructions and Business requirements of the immediate Manager.

General Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensures Continuous self - development of knowledge and skills and attitudes.
  • Maintains a high level of product related knowledge and skills appropriate to the job position held.
  • Meets and exceeds requirements of tasks as assigned by the immediate Manager in addition to the job description as per business requirements.
  • Attends meetings as per business requirements.
  • Prepares fully prior to attending the Meeting and takes part actively.
  • Follows the meeting rules and ensures correct assertive behaviour, when addressing colleagues.
  • Takes part actively and implements decisions taken at the meeting and role assigned to him/her.
  • Performs any other duties assigned to her by the Immediate Manager.
  • Informs the Immediate Manager about major events or opportunities, deviations etc as they may arise.
  • Inform the Immediate Manager on all activities regarding the competition and suggest counter activities for the benefit of the company.
  • Communicates and shares with Public Affairs Department/HR Department the needs and insights of the Department for exposure/promotion.
  • Any decision made by the Directors(s), and the Management Team of the Organization, must receive the full commitment and support of the management within the organization, towards its implementation and maintenance.
  • Any manager passing on to junior management or operational staff, any disagreement they have against the decisions to be implemented, may be subject to disciplinary action.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Strategy
    • Communicates with the director to ensure common company goals and strategies. 
    • Develops and co-ordinates key performance goals and functions within the department.
    • Reports key results to directors.
  • Daily Operations
    • AD Interim replaces the Unit Head with special assignments as per the business needs.
    • Provides supervision of the Client Service.
    • Monitors performance of the team.
    • Supports Officers and Documentation Officer.
    • Receives enquiries from Clients.
    • Receives enquiries form air freight, sea freight (LCL/FCL), imports exports or cross trade, inland transportation, multimodal transport, and customs clearance.
    • Maintains regular communication with clients.
    • Follows up on all pending Enquiries concerning exports.
    • Prepares import and export documentation in the company’s Freight system as requested.
    • Notifies Clients on a regular basis.
    • Carries out and maintains files in good order upon final receipt, delivery and invoicing.
    • Coordinates all external suppliers involved in operations including agents, Shipping Lines, customs clearance agents, warehouse operators, inland transportation providers, and insurance companies.
    • Prepares Delivery orders changes in accordance of quotations approved.
    • Collects payments in accordance with the Company’s credit policy when necessary.
    • Reports and delivers all payments/credits of the daily report to the Documentation Officer in good order.
    • Replaces Head of Department in her absence.
    • Substitutes for any other member of staff during their absence.
  • Exports
    • Receives enquiries.
    • Negotiates and ensures prices with suppliers, shipping lines and provides.
    • Supports client’s requirements and finds best fit solutions.
    • Follows up and finalizes procedures.
    • Delivers file to the Documentation Officer for final invoicing.
  • Client Management
    • Maintains regular communication with clients, incl. follow-up on all pending inquiries.
    • Always ensure maximum client satisfaction, by ensuring and negotiating competitive rates, as well as the safe, timely and efficient delivery of cargo.
  • Departmental Procedures and Policies
    • Adheres to and follows company policies and procedures.
    • Adheres to and Follows departmental operational procedures and policies.
  • Health and Safety
    • Carries out good hygiene practices. 
    • Reports any health hazards.
    • Ensures safe work practices.    
    • Is aware of health and safety policies and practices.
    • Takes part in training.
    • Is aware of the emergency evacuation and fire drill procedure and takes part in these.
  • Anti- Bribery
    • Follows all anti-bribery procedures and policies issued for the effective implementation of Anti-Bribery Management System.

Package Details :

  • Salary: €2,200–€2,600 gross per month depending on experience
  • Benefits: Medical insurance upon successful completion of the probation period
  • Working Hours: 08:00–16:30 (including a 30-minute break)
  • Annual Leave: 22 days paid annual leave
