Our client, a Holding Company in Limassol, is looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for a group of companies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role involves preparing financial statements, overseeing general ledger activities, supporting budgeting, and forecasting, and providing actionable financial insights to management.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive bookkeeping records across multiple entities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls, including VAT, trial balances, and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Generate monthly cash flow reports for the group
- Oversee general ledger postings, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, providing management with reports and insights to facilitate informed decision-making
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, assist with tax filings, and implement procedures to maintain regulatory adherence
- Coordinate with external auditors during interim and annual audits, implementing recommendations and maintaining strong internal controls
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of applicable accounting standards
- Proficient in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Experienced in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Solid knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and develop junior accounting staff
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and high integrity in financial management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex functions) and accounting software
- Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
Benefits:
The company is offering a salary 2,500 - 3,000 Euros gross based on skills and experience x 14 salaries plus provident fund 3% after probation + 85 Euro coffee shop allowance, top up of maternity and paternity leave to 100%, 1 day leave on birthday and 20 days leave
Working Hours:
The working hours are office hours are 09:00-18:00 (Break: 13:00-14:00), Monday - Friday (100% from office)
