Our client, a Corporate Services Company in Nicosia, is looking for a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for producing the day-to-day accounting of a portfolio of clients allocated to you and keep ensuring that work is completed accurately, professionally, and within agreed deadlines.
We are looking for someone with some knowledge of Cyprus VAT/TAX) and also has experience with companies dealing with securities (stocks, bonds etc). The person needs to feel comfortable in taking responsibility for their work, communicating directly with clients, solving issues independently, and delivering a consistently high standard of service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is ready to take ownership of a client portfolio, work independently, and play an important role in the continued growth of the company. You will work closely with the Managing Director and be trusted to produce your own work and client relationships, while having the support of the wider team whenever needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounting function for an assigned portfolio of clients. Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and perform bookkeeping and accounting entries
- Prepare and review financial statements and management accounts on Caseware
- Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, resolve accounting matters, and ensure deadlines are met. Manage multiple client assignments and deadlines independently
- Work closely with the Managing Director on more complex client matters & support the continued improvement and growth of the Accounting Department
- Maintain the high level of professionalism, confidentiality, responsiveness, and client service expected by Asterisk Corporate Services
Requirements:
- A relevant university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 3-4 years of relevant professional accounting experience - ability to produce accounting records based on IFRS and communicate with clients independently
- Qualified or Partly Qualified ACCA, ACA or CPA will be considered an advantage
- Experience with companies trading in securities is an advantage
- Basic Cyprus tax legislation, VAT and payroll knowledge to assist you in performing your work and answering clients questions
- Excellent command of the Greek and English Language, both verbal and written
Working Hours:
- The working hours are 8:30-17:30 with 1 hour break.
- This is a hybrid role. 2 days working from home.
