This Payment Solutions Company in Limassol belongs to a group of very innovative companies with excellent benefits and they are looking for a Reconciliation Specialist who will be responsible for the end-to-end reconciliation of all financial transactions across our payment ecosystem. This includes identifying discrepancies, resolving issues, and maintaining detailed records to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and experience within the payments industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for all transactions across banks, payment partners, acquirers, and alternative payment methods.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external statements, ensuring alignment.
  • Develop and maintain automated reconciliation processes using Excel formulas, pivot tables, and document those processes accordingly, 
  • Prepare reconciliation reports for management, highlighting trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Finance, Operations, and RnD, to address and resolve reconciliation issues.
  • Liaise with external partners or merchants (banks, acquirers, APM providers) to resolve transaction-related mismatches.
  • Assist in the design and enhancement of reconciliation frameworks, ensuring scalability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) for the reconciliation function and propose process enhancements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in payments and reconciliation.
  • Ad-hoc tasks relevant to operational items  

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in reconciliation in a payments or relevant institution
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, conditional formatting, macros are a plus
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, transaction types, card processing fees and settlement processes.
  • Understanding and experience with chargebacks, refunds, payment transactions, card payment and Alternative Payment 
    Method payment transactions reconciliation, line by line reconciliation, etc.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex reconciliation issues.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills 
  • Exposure to SQL or data analytics tools will be considered a strong advantage is a plus
  • Working experience with Alternative Payment Methods is a plus

Working hours:

  • Flexible working hours (Monday to Friday), hybrid working is possible.
