Quantity Surveyor - Larnaca

Our client is one of the leading building and civil engineering construction groups in Cyprus with a history of over 60 years in the construction sector.  It has successfully completed projects in Cyprus, Greece, UK and the Middle East and is involved in all sectors of the construction industry, from concrete and asphalt production to high rise buildings. They are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor to join their teams based in Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all quantity surveying activities of the company’s works / projects.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of bill of quantities for each project as per the technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Provides support to the Project teams in relation to the preparation of schedule of works and communicates any operational impact to the Senior QS of the Group. 
  • Supports with the preparation of tender documents, planning for a new project, required schedule of works, estimating bill of quantities and other documentation required for each project.
  • Assists the Procurement team with procuring the required site materials, with workforce planning and machinery and equipment required as per each project’s requirements and specifications.
  • Assists the Procurement team with quotations and comparisons of rates with preferred suppliers, so as to secure a competitive price.
  • Monitors the progress of work throughout the schedule and identifies any corrective actions, where necessary.
  • Provides support to the Senior QS of the Group by re-measuring subcontract works and checks for accuracy of the completed work.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly valuations for each project.
  • Assists in the preparation of the final accounts for each completed project, in coordination with the Senior QS of the Group. 
  • Ensures that the project schedules adhere to the quality, health, safety, security and environment management system. 
  • Promotes the policy for QHSSE and ensures that his/her acts or omissions do not harm the health and safety of himself/herself, others or the environment.
  • Registration, copying and filing of main contract documents and sub-contract agreements and sending copies to the sites.
  • Registration and filing of incoming and outgoing correspondence, insurances and letters of guarantee.
  • Registration and filing of certificates issued after the completion of each contract.
  • Registration and filing of subcontract final accounts.
  • Typing and translating various documents as instructed by the Senior QS.
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings.
  • Ensures compliance to the Group Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policy and procedures, adhering to the respective local HSSE legislation and remains abreast of any changes.
  • General housekeeping including; managing meeting room bookings, ensuring meeting rooms/communal areas are clean and tidy and available for visitors.
  • Opening and distributing the incoming post, and dispatching all outgoing post.
  • Perform other clerical administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
  • General:
    • Establishes and monitors an appropriate planning QS System and Plan.
    • Keeping abreast with developments related to own role.
    • Other responsibilities and authorities as defined in the Group’s procedures or as instructed by the Senior QS of the Group. 
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments.
