Our client, a well-known group of companies who offer services across five inter-connected industries: Maritime, Business, Travel, Property and Environment, is looking to hire a Procurement Manager.
Business Objectives: Ensures the delivery of maximum value from the organization’s purchasing activities by managing risk, reducing costs, ensuring supply reliability and quality & supporting broader strategic goals.
Reports To: Business Development Manager
Liaisons: Suppliers, Clients, Business Partners, Current and Potential Clients, with the Shipping Operations Departments
Authority Level:
- Deals with all areas of responsibility as stated below.
- May not interfere or take over duties and responsibilities of Senior Managers or Peers.
- May intervene only with the full co -ordinance and agreement of the Senior Manager or Peer involved.
- Is required to carry out duties over and above specific responsibilities specified below as per the Instructions and Business requirements of the CEO
General Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensures Continuous self - development of knowledge and skills and attitudes
- Maintains a high level of product related knowledge and skills appropriate to the job position held.
- Meets and exceeds requirements of tasks as assigned by the immediate Manager in addition to the job description as per business requirements
- Attends meetings as per business requirements.
- Prepares fully prior to attending the Meeting and takes part actively
- Follows the meeting rules and ensures correct assertive behaviour, when addressing colleagues
- Takes part actively and implements decisions taken at the meeting and role assigned to him/her
- Performs any other duties assigned to him/her by the Immediate Manager
- Informs the Immediate Manager about major events or opportunities, deviations etc as they may arise
- Informs the Immediate Manager on all activities regarding the competition and suggest counter activities for the benefit of the company
- Any decision made by the Director(s), and the Management Team of the Organization, must receive the full commitment and support of the management within the organization, towards its implementation and maintenance.
- Any manager passing on to junior management or operational staff, any disagreement they have against the decisions to be implemented, may be subject to disciplinary action.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Procurement:
- Handles clients’ inquiries throughout the Supply Chain Process, including liaising with all relevant Lavar Teams/ PICs and at the same time maintain and update records of relevant supply chain documentation (quotation form,PO,proof of delivery,certificates,invoices,etc.)
- Collaborate with Project teams to identify procurement requirements and develop procurement plans aligned with project timelines and budget.
- Develops procurement strategies to optimize cost,quality and delivery of timelines of project materials and services.
- Maintains and updates records of Approved Vendors/Contractors.
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory of company owned equipment, including recertification/recalibration dates etc.
- May act as Focal point for current and/or potential new clients
- Approves Job Cards (or relevant line items in same) as well as vendor invoices.
- Maintains relationships with clients and negotiates rates/costs in favour of the company.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify procurement requirements and develop procurement plans aligned with project timelines and budget
- Ensures compliance with company operational procedures, policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards throughout the procurement process
- Evaluates the supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and outcomes.
- Gives recommendations to Immediate Manager for support to Managers and Heads of Departments in optimising operational procedures.
- Refers any major issues and requirements to the Immediate Manager for resolution and/or achievement of progress.
- Sets up a Client Database for easy reference and business history purposes and upkeeps the system with new client data.

- Establishes client engagement practices and informs Management and staff of Client history and follow up when needed

- Salary: Up to 3500 Gross Monthly based on experience.
