Our client is an established regulated financial services company who are looking to recruit a Junior IT Support Officer to join their team based in Nicosia. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-house IT Support including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the server/storage/network devices
  • Front end web development - working close with marketing team
  • Maintain and monitor server health and backups
  • Ensure company’s network infrastructure security
  • Provide help desk support and escalate problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution with third party vendors.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure, maintain IT assets for hardware and software inventories and software licensing.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of computers peripherals, printer, internet & email, security, data backup and recovery.
  • Installation, monitoring and maintenance of IT systems, networks, applications and servers, perform enhancements and upgrades
  • Train and guide new users on using software, PC maintenance and troubleshoot
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of all hardware and electronic equipment of the company
  • Responding in a timely manner to service/network issues and requests.
  • Reviews vendor contracts and coordinates IT purchases (hardware, software and services)
  • Participates in the documentation and implementation of policies and standard operating procedure
  • Administering systems security by configuring, monitoring, and maintaining virus protection software
  • Track vulnerabilities and patching status of all operating systems, applications, and systems 
  • Monitoring server software and hardware
  • Maintenance of regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection and failover procedures

Requirements:

  • Any coding languages will be considered an advantage
  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field.
  • Work experience in a similar role is considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Network configuration (DNS/DHCP/Routers/Switches/Wireless Access Points)
  • Administration of Windows Servers
  • Good knowledge of Firewall configuration (CISCO)
  • Good knowledge of VMware ESXi will be considered a plus
  • Use of Photoshop & Illustrator is considered an advantage
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Creativity is key
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
