Our Client is one of the Top 4 Accounting and Auditing firms, looking to further develop their internal IT Department in Nicosia They are looking to hire an Information Security Officer who will play an important role in supporting and strengthening the organisation’s information security environment.
This is a full time office onsite position in Nicosia
The ideal candidate will have around 5 years of experience in Information Security and a strong interest in cybersecurity, risk management, and continuous improvement. They should be proactive, analytical, and comfortable working collaboratively with IT teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of information security policies, procedures, and controls.
- Identifying and assessing security vulnerabilities across the organisation’s IT environment and supporting their remediation.
- Monitoring security systems, alerts, and network activity to identify potential security incidents.
- Assisting with security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing activities.
- Supporting the investigation, documentation, and resolution of information security incidents.
- Helping ensure compliance with relevant information security standards, particularly ISO 27001.
- Supporting the organisation in maintaining appropriate GDPR and data protection controls.
- Keeping up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Working closely with the IT team to implement and improve security controls and practices.
- Assisting with security awareness activities and educating employees on information security best practices.
- Maintaining accurate security documentation, reports, and records.
- Supporting internal and external security audits and assisting with the implementation of any required corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or another technology-related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Approximately 5 years of professional experience in Information Security or Cybersecurity.
- Good understanding of information security principles, controls, and best practices.
- Familiarity with information security frameworks and standards, particularly ISO 27001.
- Understanding of cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, incident management, and security controls.
