Our client is an International Financial Technology Solutions company who have been on operation for over 35 years and are currently looking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer at their Nicosia based offices.
Your Mission
- As a Health and Safety Officer, you will deal with the activities of protection and prevention of risks that exist or may be created in the workplace.
- You will Cooperate with the employees or members of the Safety Committee on issues related to their safety and health and provide advisory assistance to the employer for taking measures related to the protection of the employees in addition to preparing reports to be delivered first quarter of each year which must be submitted to the Department of Labor .
Your Role
- Prepare a Written Risk Assessment
- Ensure the implementation of the Risk Management System
- Participate in the activities of the Safety Committee
- Conduct workplace inspections to identify hazards
- Organize training programs and educating staff
- Submit recommendations and suggestions for improving safety and health levels in the workplace
- Provision of consultation and advisory services on the protection and prevention of risks in and occupational health and safety issues
- Monitor the implementation of preventive and protective measures
- Investigate work-related accidents and hazardous incidents and preparing related reports
- Maintain safety and health records
- Accompany the Inspector and,
- Prepare reports on matters within their responsibilities including reports with statistical data (accident frequency and severity indicators), corrective measures taken, health and safety expenses
- Prepare the Annual Health and Safety Report that must be submitted by the employer to the Department of Labor Inspection during the first quarter of each year, concerning Health and Safety Management issues in the offices with relation to the previous calendar year
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or other related field.
- 5 to 6 years in Safety field
- Fluent in Greek (native) with excellent proficiency in English
- Corporate experience is highly preferred
- Candidate must reside in Cyprus
- Attentive to details
- Strong communication skills
- Proven problem solving and reporting skills
- Ability to influence behavior and promote safety culture
- Should deal exclusively with safety and health issues at work on a full-time basis
- Should be approved by the Chief Inspector from the Department of Labor inspection.
- The minimum training requirement for the Safety Officer is set at 130 hours, covering 20 different thematic units.
- Successful completion of written examination after following series of Educational Programmes for the training of Safety Officers by the Cyprus Productivity Center, which includes at least the 20 required thematic units and 130 hours of training, or other alike accredited qualification is mandatory
- Cyprus Safety & Health Association membership and any NEBOSH or IOSH or OSHA professional certificates or memberships is highly valued
- Any CPR & First Aid certification, Fire safety & emergency response training, or ISO standards awareness is a big plus
