Our Client is an International iGaming / Casino company, specializing in digital experiences and interactive entertainment software. They are currently looking for a fixed-term contractor to fulfill the role of Financial Accountant.
The initial contract will be for 6 months. Interested candidates should be available to start immediately. If the successful candidate is based outside of Cyprus (but within the EU), then they have the option of working remotely.
For candidates based in Cyprus, you will be expected to work a hybrid model (3 days in the office, 2 days at home). You will be based at their offices in Limassol.
Purpose of the role:
- The Financial Accountant takes over the manual, data-entry and other part of the finance team's recurring work, so that current team members can focus on review, reconciliation and reporting.
- The role prepares and inputs data. Approvals, payment releases, reviews and accounting judgement stay with the current task owners and reviewers.
Responsibilities:
- Enter bank and payment transactions in the internal reporting file
- Accurate and timely recording of supplier invoices, receipts, payments, bank transactions and card transactions in the accounting system
- Maintaining the purchase ledger: supplier records, invoice coding (account, department, entity), duplicate checks and supplier statement reconciliations
- Filing source documents (invoices, statements, approvals, receipts) in the Finance drive using the agreed folder structure and naming
- Posting standard recurring journals from schedules prepared and approved by the Senior Finance team members
- Supporting month-end close by completing data inputs on time and following the close checklist
- Collecting documents related to internal/external requests when asked
- Raising data issues, missing approvals and unexplained differences with the task owner instead of resolving them by assumption
Requirements:
Essential:
- At least 5 years' experience in an accounting role, including purchase ledger and bank postings
- Hands-on experience with an accounting system (and confidence working in a remote-desktop setup)
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and accurate high-volume data entry
- Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency (USD / EUR) bookkeeping
- Organised, careful with detail, able to meet fixed weekly/monthly deadlines and to ask questions early
- Must be fluent in English, written and verbal
- Must be committed to seeing out the full contract
- Must be available during core Cyprus business hours to work alongside the finance team and meet weekly/monthly reporting deadlines
Desirable:
- Experience in online gaming, iGaming or payments businesses
- Familiarity with Banking and card applications
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA or a similar qualification (or qualified)
Working Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Friday
- Flexible starting time between 9 – 9:30am, working for 8 hours and getting 1 hour break
