Our client is a Marine Services Company and they are looking for a Chief Accountant / Financial Controller who will manage a team of 5 Accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards IFRS
- Accounting Operations Management:
- Supervise accounting staff and daily operations
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax filings
- Compliance & Controls:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor financial performance and report variances
- Audit Coordination:
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries
- Tax Management:
- Oversee tax planning and compliance
- Ensure timely submission of tax returns
- Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improved accounting procedures
- Support ERP/accounting system upgrades
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
- ACCA /ACA qualification preferred
- 4-5 + years experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS)
- Leadership and team management skills
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Financial analysis and reporting tools
- Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
- ERP systems experience
- Fluent Greek and English skills
Working Hours:
The working hours are Monday – Friday 8.30 am-5.30 pm (onsite role)
