Our client, an International Ocean Transportation Company Limassol, is looking to recruit a Chief Financial Officer. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, guiding its financial strategy, planning, and maintaining its fiscal stability. They will collaborate with the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
Objectives of this role:
- Financial Management: Manage the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and auditing. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy of the company. This includes long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations
- Leadership: Direct the Finance and accounting team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and Implementing Financial Strategies: Crafting long-term financial plans and strategies that align with the company's goals, and ensuring their effective implementation to drive growth.
- Overseeing Financial Operations and Controls: Managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring proper internal controls are in place to safeguard the organization's assets and financial integrity.
- Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Conducting detailed financial analysis to inform decision-making, forecasting future financial performance, and providing insights for strategic planning.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing and presenting accurate financial statements and reports to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Treasury Management: Managing the organization's cash flow, liquidity, and investments to ensure there are sufficient funds available for its operations and growth initiatives.
- Capital Management: Strategizing on the optimal capital structure, managing equity and debt levels to support the company's financial strategy and objectives.
- Investment Management: Overseeing the company's investments, ensuring they align with the firm's financial strategy and risk tolerance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing the organization's budget, forecasting financial performance, and planning for future financial needs.
- Keeping up with the Latest Trends in Financial Management: Staying informed about the latest financial management practices, technologies, and regulatory changes to enhance decision-making and strategic planning.
- Building a Strong and Efficient Finance Team: Developing and leading a high
- performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the team has the skills and resources needed to support the organization’s financial and strategic objectives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as CFO, finance officer, or relevant role.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
- Master’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
- CFA or CPA Certificate is preferred.
- Shipping background and managerial positions in Big Four Audit firms.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- International finance experience
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations
- Fluency in English and Greek skills are preferred
- Presentable
- EU-citizenship
The working hours are 9am to 6 pm with one hour lunch break, Monday to Friday. This is an onsite role.
