Our client is a Marine Insurance Broker firm which offers boutique insurance broker services specialising in Marine insurance and they are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Underwriter Broker to join their dynamic team based in Limassol.
This position will provide essential administrative and technical support to the broker/underwriting team within a marine insurance broking firm. This role is key to ensuring efficient processing of underwriting activities, accurate documentation, and effective coordination with clients, underwriters, and brokers. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, organizational skills, and an eagerness to develop knowledge in marine insurance products and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist brokers in the preparation, issuance, and maintenance of insurance documentation, including slips, policies, endorsements, and certificates.
- Gather and review client and vessel information required for underwriting submissions.
- Enter and maintain accurate data in internal systems and databases.
- Coordinate with brokers, insurers, and clients to obtain required information and resolve outstanding queries.
- Monitor renewal diaries and assist in timely processing of renewals, quotations, and endorsements.
- Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of underwriting files and correspondence.
- Provide general administrative support to the underwriting department as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Maritime Studies, or related field (preferred).
- Prior experience in insurance, marine shipping, or broking support role is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numerical and technical data.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek language.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge in marine insurance and underwriting practices.
