Our client is a ship owning and investment management company in Limassol. They are now looking to employ an Accountant. This is a broad role where you will be able to learn and take part in multiple initiatives, having your input into the in-house software products that support operations. You will report to the Head of Marine and Operations and work normal office hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete, accurate and up to date accounting records for ship-owning and holding companies
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Preparation of cash flow projections.
  • Review of vessel operating expenses and budget comparison
  • Liaise with auditors to provide appropriate documentation as requested to complete external audits
  • Assist with the day-to day activities of the finance team
  • Ad hoc projects and/or tasks as assigned by the management

Requirements:

  • Relevant education in the field of Finance / Economics / Accounting or related field
  • At least 3 years of work experience in accounting, ideally within a shipping industry or an audit firm Knowledge of VAT and VIES will be considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards will be considered as an advantage
  • Strong command of written and spoken English is essential
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving attitude, high level of initiative
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Competent user of MS Office
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software would be considered an advantage

Salary:

  • The company is offering a salary based on skills and experience 

Working hours:

  • The working hours are Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week 9am-5pm / 9.30am-5.30pm
