Our client is a global leading provider of digital asset solutions and services. For their office in Nicosia, they are looking for a Legal & Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities:
Legal:
- Manage contracts, policies, and legal documentation.
- Negotiate agreements with corporate clients and suppliers.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise management on legal matters.
- Handle complaints, litigations, and relationships with external legal advisors.
Compliance:
- Oversee daily compliance tasks (onboarding and transactions screenings) and investigations.
- Develop and maintain policies, controls, and monitoring programs (e.g., AML-CTF, personal account dealing, best execution).
- Act as the main point of contact for authorities (CySEC, MOKAS), auditors and management (group and local).
- Deliver regular compliance reports (AML-CTF, Group compliance report, AEoI, FATCA) and foster alignment with other control functions.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in law
- Min. 3-5 years' experience in a financial institution such as a bank
- Currently working as a Lawyer
- AML certification is a must
- Regulator and bank experience, experience in an EMI or investment firm is a plus
- Interest for digital assets and blockchain technologies
- Strong analytical skills, precise, open-minded, self-starter, eager to learn, hands-on and result-oriented
- Fluent in English; Greek a strong plus
