For a big Oil & Energy Company in Larnaca we are looking for a Junior Terminal Operator. 

Responsibilities:

  • Executes orders regarding line-ups in the tank pits, main pipeway, pumprooms, and jetty for product movements
  • Boards and inspects vessels to confirm compliance with Company regulations and coordinates the Ship-Shore Agreement with the Master or Chief Officer
  • Executes orders to connect loading arms on the jetty to the vessels and arrange line-up of the jetty manifolds. This is in order to prepare for vessel loading/discharge operations
  • Executes orders to commence and stop loading /discharge / transfer operations from the Control Room and commences / stops operations in coordination with the Control Room
  • Periodically advises the Control Room about the (field) status of operations. Frequently checking all ongoing movements in the Terminal (including lines, pumps, tanks and other equipment)
  • Carries out periodic (daily, monthly, quarterly, etc as appropriate) inspections of static equipment (e.g. tanks, lines, loading arms) and rotating equipment (e.g. pumps) to ensure smooth running and dependable service conditions according to checklists
  • Executes manual shore tank gauging and sampling according to Company procedures and assists Surveyors during line sampling and other activities
  • Executes orders for pigging operations and line stripping / packing
  • Executes orders for dewatering of tanks
  • Executes orders for Truck Loading operations
  • Monitors the operation of both the Rain and Oily Water Systems and takes corrective actions after consultation with the Control Room
  • Prepares equipment to be product free and in safe condition for Maintenance and assists Maintenance Personnel when necessary
  • Executes small scale maintenance tasks such as valve greasing and also replacement of small valves, flanges, and TRVs according to Company procedures
  • Monitors and reports maintenance or project related activities and ensures that all product movements and maintenance are carried out in accordance to the Companies Safe Work Procedures and practices
  • Performs initial troubleshooting during equipment failures and defects and creates Work Orders outlining the issue, the troubleshooting performed, and the conditions during the failure
  • Ensures that work areas are kept clean and tidy following execution of tasks and monitors overall Terminal housekeeping
  • Ensures proper working condition and inventory of Terminal vehicles, cycles, PPE’s (including gas detectors etc) and tools (such as samplers, sampling bucks & ropes, and thermo-probes) that are used during Operations
  • Maintains excellent communication and cooperation with the other shifts and departments
  • Complies with all HSE and Fire regulations including the use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Reports through Quality Online, and verbally to the Terminal Shift Supervisor, near misses, accidents, incidents, unsafe situations, and pollution or emission occurrences
  • Attends HSE (toolbox) meetings and training sessions. Participates in Safety Observation Rounds and Emergency drills
  • Performs on-the-job training of HSE and emergency response activities
  • Member of the Company Fire Fighting Team
  • Acts as delegate Terminal Assistant Shift Supervisor following approval from Terminal Shift Supervisor
  • Follows Company rules and regulations at all times
  • Ensures that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above
  • Performs any other duties that align with his/her description of work that may be considered necessary from time to time.
