Our client is an Forex/CFD Broker based in Limassol and they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Head of Legal who will be responsible for the legal aspects of the company operations and structures.
As the Head of the CFDs Legal Department, you will lead the legal team responsible for advising on all legal aspects of the company operations and structures. This role involves developing and implementing legal strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing legal risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Strategy:
- Develop and implement the legal structures aligning them with the company's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with relevant financial regulations, especially those specific to company operations and jurisdictions, and ensure full compliance with all applicable laws.
Contractual Agreements:
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, contracts, and related legal documents with external counterparties.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage legal risks, including regulatory, operational, and contractual risks.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and policies.
Dispute Resolution:
- Oversee the resolution of legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, or negotiation with counterparties.
Legal Research:
- Conduct legal research and analysis to guide emerging legal issues and regulatory changes affecting company operations.
Stakeholder Relations:
- Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external legal counsel to stay informed about changes in regulations and industry standards.
Policy Development:
- Develop and enforce internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor the legal team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure efficient legal operations.
Qualifications:
- Legal degree and a valid license to practice law.
- Extensive legal experience (10+ years) with a focus on CFD companies.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, including those specific to CFD companies.
- Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
- Experience in managing legal teams and complex legal matters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
