Our client is Real Estate company and its primary business is the redevelopment of community shopping centers and residential for rent assets in Central Europe , the opportunity has become available as my client is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join the team at their Limassol based offices and who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.

This role will be for maternity cover however the successful candidate will have the option for either an extension of role or to transition into a Group Reporting role. 


Main Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including review of monthly accounting records for a group of companies
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions
  • Review quarterly accounting procedures including intercompany reconciliations and interest calculations
  • Ensure timely payment of company’s obligations to suppliers, tax authorities and other parties
  • Ensure VAT and corporate income tax compliance
  • Prepare, upload and monitor the annual budgets as well as perform forecasting and variance analysis 
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS for a group of companies
  • Cooperation with the company’s external accountants, auditors and tax advisors during the audit period
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity and other financial transactions 
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing external and internal financing and covenant compliance
  • Ensure that financial policies and internal controls are developed and updated according to group’s policies
  • Support the local Finance Director in relevant meetings with the Management as necessary
  • Liaise with external associates such banks, auditors, clients, etc.
  • Monitor and oversee the analysis of key performance indicators 
  • Supervise and train accounting staff
  • Support ad-hoc financial requests and analysis

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field
  • Member of a professional Accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar position 
  • Experience with SAP and Caseware will be an advantage
  • Fluency in Greek and English
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Dynamic with an ability to solve problems and provide results
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills

Salary & Benefits:

  • An attractive package of remuneration will be offered to the successful candidate from of 45,000 to 48,000 Euros gross annually based on qualifications and experience.
  • We don’t offer 13th salary, but we do have an annual discretionary bonus based on performance (typically but not guaranteed 2 months’ salary). 

We also offer: 

  • Travelling allowance depending on distance from house to office. 
  • Provident fund (employer starts contributing after 6 months employment up to 3%)

Working Hours:

  • Working hours are 40 hours a week with flexibility to start between 7 am and 9 am Monday – Thursday. Friday working hours are 9 am – 3pm. 
  • Onsite with no work from home option available
