Our client, a Global Marine Safety & Security Services Company in Limassol, is looking for a Director of Compliance to lead the compliance, governance, quality, health & safety, and security management systems across the Group.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic yet hands-on compliance professional who is passionate about building robust management systems, maintaining internationally recognized certifications, and driving operational excellence across a diverse and growing organization.
Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Group maintains the highest standards of compliance, governance, quality, health & safety, and security.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Group's Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Maintain and continually improve ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 18788, and ISO 28007 management systems.
- Develop and implement the Group's compliance strategy, policies, and governance framework.
- Lead internal and external audits, certification programs, and continual improvement initiatives.
- Oversee enterprise compliance, regulatory requirements, and operational risk management.
- Provide compliance guidance and support to operational and commercial teams.
- Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and organizational learning initiatives.
- Act as the primary liaison with certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and client compliance teams.
- Prepare executive-level reports, management reviews, KPIs, and compliance performance dashboards.
- Foster a culture of compliance, integrity, quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- At least 6 years of proven experience in a senior Compliance, QHSE, Governance, or Integrated Management Systems leadership role.
- Management experience is required
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 (must)
- Experience leading internal and external audits and managing certification programs.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and enterprise risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate independently within an international business environment.
- Experience within the maritime, shipping, offshore, marine services, security, defense, or oil & gas sectors is preferred
- Knowledge of ISO 18788 Security Operations Management is a must
- Knowledge of ISO 28007 Private Maritime Security Certification is a plus
- ISO Lead Auditor qualifications are desirable
- NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification is an addition
- Experience supporting international operations and multi-jurisdictional compliance is an advantage.
- Excellent English skills are required. Greek skills are a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally 3-4 times a year is required.
