Our client, an Asset management company in Limassol, is looking to recruit a detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure their operations adhere to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business, providing guidance on compliance matters, and acting as a key liaison with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)/
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Framework & Advisory
- Monitor CySEC circulars, EU regulations (MiFID II, MiCA), and AML laws to ensure the company remains fully compliant
- Advise the Board of Directors and senior management on regulatory developments and their impact on business activities
- Manage the company’s legal framework, ensuring all terms & conditions, agreements, and risk warnings meet current standards
- Policies, Procedures & Monitoring
- Draft, review, and update the Internal Operations Manual, Compliance Manual, and Client Acceptance Policy
- Execute the Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP) to test the effectiveness of internal controls
- Conduct regular audits of processes, marketing materials (websites/ads), and client communications to identify weaknesses
- AML/CFT Focus
- Implement AML/CTF policies in line with the EBA Guidelines and CySEC Directive C535
- Oversee Client Due Diligence (CDD/KYC), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and transaction monitoring systems
- Investigate suspicious activities and prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the FIU .
- Reporting & Training
- Prepare and submit annual Compliance Reports and AML Reports to CySEC
- Act as the primary liaison with CySEC during inspections or ad-hoc inquiries
- Deliver regular compliance training to employees to foster a culture of regulatory awareness
Requirements:
- Fluent German and English language skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Risk Management
- Mandatory: CySEC Certificate (Basic or Advanced).
- Mandatory: CySEC AML Certificate (for AMLCO responsibilities)
- 2 – 5+ years of experience in a compliance role, specifically within the Forex (CFDs), Investment Firm (CIF), or Fintech sector
- Experience with AIFMs, ASPs (Administrative Service Providers), or Crypto is a distinct advantage depending on the role
- Deep knowledge of MiFID II, EMIR, GDPR, and the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering Law
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with compliance software (e.g., MOEBIUS, Sumsub, or similar KYC/Transaction monitoring tools) is a plus
- Fluent English is mandatory; Greek is highly preferred for liaising with local authorities
- Strong analytical mindset, high integrity, and ability to handle pressure with tight deadlines
Working Hours:
The working hours are Monday - Friday from 9am -5pm with 1 hour lunch (hybrid working is possible 1- 2 days from home)
