Our client is a Marine Insurance Brokerage Company in Limassol and they are looking for a Claims Handler, to join their dynamic and growing team. The candidate must know how to read and interpret charter parities, bills of lading – contracts of carriage – how to make demurrage calculations and give basic advice on these contracts. They are not a law office but the give assistance to clients on charter parties. Also, the person will need to handle P&I and H&M claims.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with Assureds and their underwriters regarding marine insurance claims (P&I, FD&D, H&M), including initial notification of claims and further updates and follow-ups until claim reimbursement is obtained
- Advising Assureds on their marine insurance claims and providing additional assistance in relation to shipping contracts and disputes.
- Maintaining relevant Claims Databases
- Arranging condition and cargo surveys
- Preparing regular Loss Prevention newsletters and distributing them among the Assureds
Requirements:
- Marine law degree
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Understand how to read and interpret charter parities, bills of lading – contracts of carriage – how to make demurrage calculations and give basic advice on these contracts
- Able to handle P&I and H&M claims
- Excellent English skills
Working hours:
- The working hours are 9am – 5-6pm, Monday to Friday (they are very flexible)
