Our client, a cruise line for Spanish-speaking markets, is looking for an experienced and hands-on CFO with experience in the cruise management industry.
The CFO who will be responsible to provide strategic financial input to senior management. While keenly overseeing the overall accounting process and developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the firm. The CFO establishes and oversees the budgeting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the CEO with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
- Manages budgeting and long term financial planning process of the company
- Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the Company (i.e., growth, new markets, and evaluation of potential alliances, employee benefits, and investments)
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory interactions
- Develops reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs of the Company
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner
- Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
- Continually improves the timeliness and accuracy of the Company’s cash flow and management of the collections process
- Coordinates with appropriate legal counsel relating to financial and corporate governance compliance and risk assessment matters
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter
- Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals
- Maintain in depth knowledge of company’s products and services
- Maintain excellent communication and cooperation with the Chief Officers of each business unit in order to improve process efficiency and maximize synergies
- Good knowledge of the company’s electronic systems and databases
Qualifications:
- Excellent knowledge of the English Language. German skills are a plus
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
- Demonstrating an “executive presence”, backed up with solid communication skills
- Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with peers, brand leaders, and other senior management throughout the company
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Ability to create and assess financial statements and budget documents
- A Degree in Finance or other closely related area
- Experience in a Finance, Auditing or similar position
- Experience in the cruise / ship management industry
- Willing to travel
- EU-citizenship
Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday from 9am – 5.30pm daily with half an hour lunch break.
- Overtime and travelling will be required from time to time.
- This is an onsite role.
